Hi Vicky and WCH, Nice to meet you, too. Thanks for the information and the love for the dogs. I studied and lived in Raleigh, North Carolina from 1998 to 2001. The "dog's life" in the US is like in heaven while I think of the dogs in Taiwan. I love dogs and really feel sad for the dogs in Taiwan. I always had pet food with me on campus because taking care of the many stray dogs there was a pleasing mission for me when I was a student in Taiwan. Juby used to be a stray dog in National Central University in 1993. I first met him while he was searching food in the dump. I called him and supplied him food then he always followed me wherever I went. He slept in front of my dorm for several days. I decided to take him home not only because the janitor didn't allow me to do that but he was such a nice and cute dog. On Dec. 15th 1993, he stood on my scooter for more than 3 hrs from ChungLi to Taipei and he finally became a member of my family. Something badly happened in 1998 after I went to the US for 2 months. Juby went blind. I was so sad. I came back to Taiwan at the end of 1998. The miracle occured... Juby could see again. Among the 3 years I was back and forth between Taiwan the US, Juby went blind and recovered again and again. Even the vets can not believe it. I think Juby is almost 11 now.(He was probably 1 in 1993) He is healthy but has skin disease recently. He is always by my side while I'm home. He is my best friend in my life and hope he can be happy forever. Sincerely, |
